Traditional faves – lightened up! Vanilla Creme French Toast Recipe

Traditional faves – lightened up!  Vanilla Creme French Toast Recipe

With a chill in the air and winter approaching, it’s time to make comfort food. You know, those great recipes that your mom and grandmother made. Chances are, though, those comforting recipes are probably not…light.

This winter, try lightening up those comfort foods with SweetLeaf Stevia®. Made from natural, sweet stevia leaves, SweetLeaf Stevia Sweetener has zero calories, zero carbs, zero glycemic response and NO artificial ingredients. SweetLeaf products range from stevia powders to naturally flavored liquid stevia. My favorite SweetLeaf sweetener is the Vanilla Crème Sweet Drops. They’re especially yummy in Vanilla Crème French Toast, an easy, lightened up twist on traditional French toast. At just 210 calories per serving, it makes a great hot breakfast for a chilly winter morning.

Vanilla Crème French Toast

Ingredients

1 egg
1 cup milk
Pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg
8 drops Vanilla Crème Sweet Drops
4 slices whole grain bread
Butter (for the pan)

Directions

Whisk egg and milk together in a bowl. Add spices and Sweet Drops. Dip bread in egg mixture on both sides until thoroughly coated. Place in a buttered frying pan on medium heat until both sides are browned. Add syrup and enjoy!
