Sweeten up your holidays with Stevia! Holiday Yams Recipe

Sweeten up your holidays with Stevia!  Holiday Yams Recipe

The holidays are here, which means it’s time for memorable meals, fun appetizers and sweet goodies. That being said, holiday food (even the savory kind) is often full of sugar and calories.

A great way to keep your holiday fare sweet without adding extra calories or carbs is to swap out the sugar in your recipes for SweetLeaf Stevia. And because not all stevia is created equal, I use SweetLeaf Stevia® when I want to lighten up my holiday recipes without sacrificing flavor. SweetLeaf Stevia, along with having zero calories, zero carbs, zero glycemic response and NO artificial ingredients, tastes great and is ideal for a variety of recipes. This SweetLeaf® recipe for Holiday Yams will definitely be replacing the usual sugar-laden marshmallow topped sweet potatoes at my table this holiday season:

Holiday Yams

Ingredients:

6 cups peeled yams, cut into ½” to 1” cubes
4 Tbsp. butter, melted
½ tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
4 packets SweetLeaf Stevia®
½ tsp. cinnamon

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F. Toss the cubed yams and melted butter together and spread the coated cubes onto a parchment-lined cookie or baking sheet. Season with the salt, pepper, SweetLeaf and cinnamon. Bake for 35 minutes or until yams are cooked through and slightly caramelized.

I found this great holiday recipe in Cooking with SweetLeaf Stevia®, the new cookbook from SweetLeaf. Visit www.ShopSweetLeaf.com to get it for yourself or for a great holiday gift!
